VOICE AND DICTION WORKSHOP

DATE & TIME
Saturday June 17, 2017 - 10am to 4pm

INSTRUCTOR
Matthew Harrison | IMDB Profile

class description

An expressive voice and clear speech are FUNDAMENTALS for the screen actor.

Directors, sound technicians, and audiences are often frustrated by actors with a lack of vocal power and their poor pronunciation…an effective voice and articulate communication are absolutes to a successful career…

The actor’s emotional and physical life are also tied to the voice. An actor needs a free vocal instrument to unlock emotions and behaviour.

Get clear in your speech. Get connected to your voice. Get working.

This is a workshop on the fundamental principles of breath, sound, and diction. Simple and practical exercises and warm ups will be explored to push actors to freedom in their natural voices and clarity in their speech.

With an understanding of these principles, and practice of the exercises, actors will dramatically improve the effectiveness of their voices…and the success of their work.
